LOEWE Small Classic Puzzle Bag in Tan Calfskin with Palladium Silver Hardware

This is a 100% authentic LOEWE Small Classic Puzzle Bag in Tan Calfskin with Shiny Silver Palladium Hardware.

 Jonathan Anderson's Puzzle bag has become a Loewe icon with its innovative cuboid shape and multi-function style; it even folds down flat, making it the perfect choice when travelling. Hand-painted edges, herringbone weave cotton-canvas lining, two internal slip compartments, handy exterior zip back pocket and, of course, the embossed Anagram, give the bag an extra touch of irresistible style.

Staying true to the Spanish brand's artisanal approach, this original, first version design, (so sadly no longer produced) required 524 by-hand crafted actions in the factory just outside of Madrid, taking approximately almost nine hours to be completed. Composed of 41 different leather pieces, 9 textile pieces and 45 pieces of cloth, along with the addition of metalware and zips, it's intricate, architectural and ridiculously practical.

Crafted from a thick, robust hide, yet retaining a supple construction, it will hold its shape when empty, but isn't structured or hard sided. (All photos are taken when the bag is empty....) just enough 'give' to make it perfect to carry, in any way you want. By hand, as a clutch, crossbody, on the shoulder or sling across....the choices are yours.

Details -

Entirely colour consistent, beautifully grained and gently sheened with the amazing ability to change intensity in different lights...a rich toffee-tan tone in some and a creamy caramel in others, just beautiful!

A naturally soft sided design the form is still very good with mild creasing and on first review the only immediately visible wear is the lightest rubbing to the base's corner curves and the fingernail scratches to the base.

Only on close inspection can you note some surface colour rubbing to the leather loop of the bases D ring, a small, blue pen catch to the RH side panel and a tiny, twin dot scratch to the front, lower RH side, (see locations circled and shown with the zoom in the Gallery below.) 

Hardware is bright excepting the four, diagonal-bar feet to the base which display scratching from being placed down and there is a small chip of wear to the inner curve of one of the shoulder straps end clips.

A little flex cracking to the glossy black inking, (hand painted, edge sealant) at the handles base loops and minor wear to the inking of the D rings. All shown in close up detail, it's much less noticable to the naked eye and does not affect the use of the piece in any way.

Minor contact darkening to the leather on one underside of the top handle, where it loops around the D ring.

The interior is lined in clean, herringbone woven, linen-marl with two slip pockets.  There is some very slight linear discoloration and a small round mark to the lining of the rear, zip pocket.
