Mulberry Antony Large Messenger in Chocolate Natural Vegetable Tanned Leather

 This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Antony Large Messenger in Chocolate Brown Natural Vegetable Tanned Leather with Antiqued Golden Brass Hardware. 

The largest member of the Antony family crafted from Mulberrys finest, first generation NVT hide, this very generously proportioned cross body bag has been the staple of discerning wardrobes for decades.

So sadly now discontinued in both this size, leather type and original chocolate colourway, it's a design, hide and shade so very much missed.

Condition -  Well Used

Details -

A curvy silhouette with curly corners and oodles of charm, this absolute workhorse of a bag has been used and loved but has many years of service yet to give. 

Creasy, characterful and with that glorious glossiness in places that only develops with time and use, it's slightly dry around the base corners but nothing a good bit of nourishing can't restore.

A rich chocolate tone, the leather is thick but supple, nicely softened with natural striations and varations in the grain throughout.

No real wear to the hide.....the fingernail scratches and scuffs that have been acquired during use have all now completely blended over time, just a light surface impression to the rear, upper LH side and an undulation where the interior coin has impressed through to the back, (see Gallery below.)

Inking, (edge sealant) is worn in places with flex cracking and loss as shown to its full extent in the photos. This doesn't affect the use of the bag in any way.

The webbed strap is excellent with a couple of slightly faded sit impressions where the movable buckle has been set.

The Postmans Lock Plate displays lots of scratches and tarnish with finish loss to the turnlocks side.

There are contact friction scratches, rubbing and finish loss between the top plate and base plate from resting together.

The interior is self lined in clean ruffled, suede with two small, dark marks to the base, as shown.

There are fingernails scuffs to the interior leather of the front, slip pocket though not visible in use.
