Mulberry Small Bayswater Buckle Bag in Oxblood Shrunken Calf Leather - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Small Bayswater Buckle Bag in Oxblood Shrunken Calf Leather with Shiny Goldtone Hardware. 

The Bayswater has been reinvented in many different designs and the 'Buckle Bayswater' has to be one of the most splendid!

Crafted in England from a fabulously thick, bubbly textured hide in a rich, berry-burgundy shade, this first version marries the lovely, top-handle Ledbury, (Small Bayswater Satchel without a shoulder strap) with the 'Coca' Bayswater's trapezoid styling.

Perfect for everyday, there's plenty of room for all the basics and more.

Please note these pieces are top handle only and do not have shoulder straps, (nor D rings.)

Details -

A relaxed silhouette, the form has a backwards lean when empty so a firm felt liner will be required if you prefer a more upright look.

The top handles are well shaped though will flop downwards if not placed upright or held, due to the softening to their bases.

There are surface impressions to the rear of the top flap where the handle bases rest, as is commonly found on this model.

Cracking to the inking (edge sealant) on the sides of the handle bases, to the sides of the flap and to the top curves of the aperture, as shown. This does not affect the use of the bag in any way. 

The Postmans Lockplate displays a number of hairline scratches, (visible only on very close inspection,) and there are light friction scratches to the two underside plates from contact. Side buckles are excellent and the apex of the base feet display minor silvery paling from being placed down.

No rear 'wear' to the leather........corner curves are gently smoothed but not scuffed and all stitching is tight throughout.

Crafted from a stunning hide, so fabulously striated and characterful, there is a vague darker area of colouration on the front, lower middle of the bag, (location circled and shown clearly in the photo gallery,) however this blends effortlessly with the nature of the finish and is very hard to see with the naked eye.

A small, suface impression to the base and a very light, fingernail scuff just above the Postmans Lock Plate, (location circled and shown in close up detail,) again both completely unnoticable.

Self lined in clean, ruffled suede with one dark mark which has flattened the nap, on the interior base LH side.
