This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Medium Sized Trout Satchel in Oak Silky Snake Printed Leather with Shiny Pale Gold Hardware.

The Trout Bag is a nostalgic look back at the original Mulberry satchel design from the 1970s. Featuring a classic school satchel-style with pushlock closures adorned with the engraved, oval plaque, two handy front pockets, an adjustable, plait feature top handle, detachable cross-body strap and useful, full depth exterior rear slip pocket that seals with a concealed magnetic snap.

Crafted from a lightly glazed, goldy toned, oak calfskin hide that's been embossed with the snake scale finish....it's a far more robust leather than you'd imagine.

Incredibly attractive, this retro piece has an uber-cool vibe and is way more lovely than it's Condition Rating makes it sound!

Details -

Well shaped, (the hide will soften with use however the thick, rolled, calfskin trims ensures it keeps its shape well,) the front plaque is excellent with only a couple of barely there, hairline surface scratches, as shown. There are contact scratches and minor finish loss to the push locks and similarly to the shoulder straps snap hooks, though all much less noticable in use than the close up photos make them appear.

Light surface scuffing to the two front corner curves and centre seam of the base, the main reason this piece hasn't achieve a higher Condition Rating is due to the inherent nature of the leather type. As soon as constructed and handled this leather immediately shows dimension. With any sort of movement the scales are designed to curl slightly at the edges and develop inevitable lifting which shows the lighter tone of the hide beneath. This is a characteristic of the hide and not a fault. No peeling or issue, just the usual gently flexing and movement of the scales, creating that beautiful, two-tone depth this finish develops with use.

Lined in clean, chocolate brown Mulberry Tree jacquard cotton with a zipped pocket, leather trimmed slip pocket and the top flap is lined in soft, fine-nap suede.
