This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Chiltern Buckle Satchel in Black Grained Vegetable Tanned Leather with Golden Brass Hardware.

A unisex, retro styled satchel bag with a real buckle closure, tonal stitching and useful, rear zipped pocket, its a piece that combines curvy & angular perfectly.

Crafted from a thick, supple and robust hide with a large, pebbly grain it may be called the 'Small' but it feels fabulously substantial.

This is how Mulberry describe their Chiltern Satchel - "The buckle has long been a Mulberry signature. The Chiltern Satchel has a retro-inspired and compact shape with a central buckle. The long shoulder strap can be adjusted to wear on the shoulder or across the body, and there is an additional short top handle for multiple ways to carry."

Details -

One of those pieces that has only improved with use, this design can be quite structured and 'solid' when new. More relaxed and softened, the silhoutte is still upright but now nicely supple with a little 'slouch' to the form which makes it wonderfully comfortable to carry.

No wear whatsoever, hardware excellent, inking (edge sealent) all in place and stitching strong. This is a piece that is built to last.

Two detachable straps, the short, wide Mulberry embossed one can be worn on the shoulder and the longer one is adjustable (though due to the dimensions of the satchel and the drop, this is not recommended as a cross body bag). There is a shallow sit impression across the last hole of the long strap where the buckle has been previously set.

The interior is lined in clean, thick, black suede with two suede slip pockets, front slip pocket. There is also a useful, large zip pocket to the rear of the bag. The suede is  gently ruffled and displays flattening* to the pile at each side of the top flap from resting on the front pocket, when closed. Shown in the close up photos above.
