This is a 100% authentic Hermés Evelyne III 29 PM in Noir (Black) Taurillon Clemence with Shiny Palladium Silver Hardware.

"The story behind

Since 1978, this bag has enchanted daily riders. First intended to tend horses, it is sewn without a lining and brightened up with an “H” perforation, which the initiates wear against the body, in order to allow the equipment to dry. With its girth-like shoulder strap, the Évelyne is the perfect heart-minder.

 Taurillon Clemence Leather
Named in tribute to the daughter of the designer who introduced it into the collections, this leather was developed for luggage and is the ultimate example of a grained leather that has been drummed. This process softens the skin and brings a generous grain to the surface.
First appeared in the collections: 1992
Appearance: Semi-matt, generous and irregular grain

The Evelyne was named after Évelyne Bertrand, who was the head of Hermès’s riding department. Designed in 1978 to carry grooming equipment, (the perforated H was designed to enable air to enter the bag to dry the equipment,) it was originally sold in stores alongside other equestrian goods! Now only very occasionally offered by Hermés, its become more and more sought after due to its lessening availability.

 

Condition -  Excellent*

 

 Details -

A fabulous piece, there's no immediately visible wear.

Well shaped, colour consistent, all stitching tight, edging in place and just the lightest, hairline scratches to the snap hooks of the shoulder strap.

The leather is pristine with the exception of a 1cm scratch* to the piping trim on the front, lower, LH corner's curve. Shown with the zoom in the last photo in the Gallery above.....to the naked eye its much less scary!! Whilst not a cosmetic scratch that can be concealed with polish (the surface of the leather has broken), it does not affect or compromise the use of the piece in any way and is incredibly hard to see in use.

The webbed strap displays one, small and very vague, pale mark near the end, (location highlighted in the Gallery above) and a shallow, vertical linear, sit impression where the sliding buckle has been previously set. 

Entirely clean, self lined suede interior with extremely gentle pile ruffling.
