This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Classic Regular Alexa Satchel in Oak Soft Printed Vegetable Tanned Leather with Soft Gold Hardware.

Crafted from a characterful, thick, croc embossed NVT hide, this fabulous Lexy feels so robust and substantial, it's a bag you won't want to baby.

An upright silhouette with suppleness that will continue to develop, (though these pieces won't ever become slouchy like Soft Buffalo), its a wonderful, well-used, work-horse of a bag!

Scratches and scuffs throughout, this Alexa has been used, enjoyed but cared for very well. Protected with Collonil and nourished regularly, there are no water-spots or marks, just the inevitable fingernail scuffs that eventually blend with the pattern and finish. One of the benefits of this superior hide, (so sadly no longer made by Mulberry,) is it develops such a rich patina and character with use, so marks and scratches are camouflaged effortlessly.

Dry corners with some minor burnishing around the piped curves, there's no real wear or rubbing, just the natural ageing that even the most regular moisturising can't abate. 

Stitching all tightly in place, the plait top handle is As New. Perfectly shaped, firm, with all inking, (edge sealent) in place, (the owner always chose to carry on the shoulder). No detriment to the detachable shoulder strap, just a light sit mark across the first hole where the buckle has been set.

Flex cracks to the inking on the top curves of the flap's side, (mostly to the RH sides') caused by the motion of the strap clip. Much less visible to the naked eye than the close up photos make them appear and doesn't affect the use of the piece in any way.

Lots of scratches and finish loss to the soft gold hardware throughout the piece. A slightly paler and more matte finish than Golden Brass, these are shown in close up detail in the Gallery photos above. Again, an entirely natural part of these pieces' aging and use but has been reflected in the Condition Rating.

The reason for the *notation is the wobby turnlock. The base plate is firmly attached and flush however the turnlock itself feels slightly loose and does not click into closure position. The baseplate and turnlock are a sealed unit, so it can't be 'tightened' and will, with continued use, most probably break and require replacement. Mulberry Repairs can undertake, however, reputable Restoration Services charge approx £45 and waiting times will be considerably less. This has been reflected in the price and no onward liability is accepted.

Lined in clean, chocolate Mulberry Tree jacquard cotton with a suede lined top flap, zipped pocket and leather trimmed slip pocket.
