A preamble.........

Being very selective about the Brands the Nest stocks, its rare that a new Designer surprises me.

However, Polène have done just that and their 'Number One' bag is quite literally outstanding, in every way. 

I usually pop the bags RRP on the listing about now....but I'll come back to this later, as would like to convey my initial reaction to this piece before initiating preconceptions.

Beautifully blouson, with femine pleats that you can play up or play down, this is an ideally sized, semi-structured day bag with the perfect degree of suppleness.

Cinch in the curves with the embossed prestuds, or leave them open for a more trapezoid look, if you didn't know this wasn't Celine, you'd be given immediate absolution, without question.

Exquisite, thick and pebbly, drummed calfskin. The craftsmanship is to die for.....everything about this piece exudes quality.

Before I knew this bag cost just $400 USD, I would honestly have put it on a par with a £1,500 equivalent.

Details -

Unused, just stored since purchase, the Seller had additional holes* added to the long shoulder strap in order to wear cross body, but its never been carried.

Displayed in a cabinet, there is the slightest evidence that the base feet have sat on a shelf and a few hairline flex crackles* to the inking, (edge sealent) at the flap's RH lower side where it attaches to the back of the bag. Only visible if you extend the flap right back to view.

Crafted from a rich, damson berry, almost claret toned hide. Protective film in place on magentic base plate fastener.

Fully lined in thick, rich raspberry toned cotton twill with a large zipped pocket and two leather trimmed slip pockets.
