Mulberry Classic Bayswater in Poppy Red Natural Leather - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Classic Bayswater in Poppy Red Natural Leather with shiny gold tone hardware.

Made in England.... the original Mulberry icon. 

This beautiful, classic styled Bayswater is crafted from a thick, robust and characterful NVT hide.

A muted, mellow red shade but a richly saturated tone, its subdued and eye catching all at the same time!

Details -

A curvy silhouette, it will stand up when empty but will relax and soften with use to eventually become a fabulously supple and slouchy bag. 

Colour consistent, (the shade varies in the photos as its just the way it looks in different lights), it a hide that 'burnishes' beautifully, gaining a characterful patina that can currently be noted on the hanging cloche front, around the corner curves, rear handle patch bases and corners of the base feet square patches.

As is commonly seen on these pieces with softening the top flap a gentle dip undulation develops along the rear of the flap.

Inner handle base insterts have gradually formed light surface impressions as is inevitable on this design.

The curves at the base display light colour rubs, no scuffing or wear and all inking (edge sealent) and stitching is excellent throughout.

A fingernail scuff just below the lower curve of the Postmans Lock Plate, one to the LH side on the handle base, a curved scratch to the rear of the bag, on the upper LH side, (between the handles), one to the lower, LH side of the front handle and some surface impressions to the lower, rear RH side. All shown in close up detail in the Gallery above, with time and use these fingernal scuffs blend and continue to form part and parcel of a fabulous, natural hide.

Shoulder straps are firm and well shaped, with slight darkening and patina to the top areas where they have been hand held.

The Postmans Lock Plate is very good with very light hairline scratches. Light friction contact scratches to the underside plates and apex of the base feet from being placed down.

The interior is self lined suede with a couple of vague marks to the lower RH side, as shown. The top flap displays commonly seen 'veins' in the nap of the suede, as is a part of the inherent nature of the material.
