Firm and well shaped, the glazed box leather is, colour consistent, with excellent tone and density throughout.
Natural surface striations are part of the make up of this finish and though box calf does have a tendency to scratch, the inherent characteristics of the hide conceal them extremely well so its a bag that will age incredibly gracefully.
As is inevitable though, there are numerous small, light fingernail scratches to the surface. Extremely well camoflagued by the reflective nature and creasy finish of the leather, they are very hard to see with the naked eye, as blend so well, but have all been shown in the Gallery above.
No wear, the edging and corners are excellent and all stitching is clean and fully intact, (any white marks in the photos are purely light reflections)
Lined in clean oatmeal marl linen there is a tiny and very vague light blue smudge to the back wall, (see close up Photo above).
Some age-related glue discoloration to the inner front edge seam, as shown. Not noticable in use, this has been reflected in the price.
