This is a 100% authentic Chanel Gabrielle Hobo (Medium Sized) in Black Aged Calfskin with a mix of Pewter Ruthenium, Antiqued Gold, Shiny Silver and Polished Gold Hardware.

Named after ‘Coco’ Chanels real first name, the Gabrielle Hobo is eclectically inspired, both by Virtual Reality Goggles and vintage binocular cases. 

Combining a gloriously creasy and distressed quilted calfskin upper with a firm and glossy structured lower base, this beautiful Chanel is the perfect balance of suppleness and rigidity.

Multi way options to wear….. on your shoulder, cross body or wrap the fabulous chains so you can carry in the hand for a really modern look.

Intended to be a unisex piece, Chanel introduced the first man in the house’s 108 year of existence to be part of their ad campaign.

Details -

The distressed calfskin upper is pristine. Beautifully striated, soft and super tactile with that deep black tone that looks a shimmery, gunmetal grey in some lights.

The smooth, solid lower area is crafted from a very dense shell covered by a glossy calfskin which displays its own natural finish and character. As part of the construction, the hide displays tiny, curved, parallel lines that, on very close inspection, look like miniscule scratches, (see last photo in the gallery below). These are not scratches or a fault, just normal creasing in the finish as the leather has been moulded around the firm panelling.

There are a number of light fingernail scuffs to the smooth leather hide. One to the LH side rear, one to the middle and another two to the RH side. These were incredibly difficult to capture on camera and the best illustration were shots that actually appear out of focus. Hence why the close ups look slightly blurry....its intentional, not lazy photography, I promise!

A tiny scratch to the rear upper trim of the bag, all these are shown in close up detail in the zoomed photos but to the naked eye are very difficult to see. 

The reason for the * rating is due to a small graze to the surface of the leather on the LH corner curve. Again, much less visible that the photo makes this appear, (it does look horrendous in the picture but in reality it really is very hard to spot). The reflective nature of the glazed calfskin camoflagues all manner of imperfections effortlessly.

A light, dot sized surface impression to the base and a cluster of pin head sized impressions to the upper LH corner curve. One light fingernail scratch near the lower edge, there's no visible wear to corners or trim, excepting the graze as mentioned above.

Hardware is excellent throughout and the straps without any detriment.

The interior is lined in a muted red, grossgrain with two large slip sections, zipped pocket and leather key clip. Displaying light use there is a small, diagonal mark to the slip pocket front, a mark to the base fabric and two white, circular spots to the interior zip pocket. The protective film remains in place on the inner, embossed zip pull.
