Mulberry Heritage Small Bayswater Satchel in Conker High Pebbled Matte Pebbled Patent Mix & Base Shaper - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic  Mulberry 'Heritage' Small Bayswater Satchel in Conker High Pebbled Matte Pebbled Patent Mix with brushed gold hardware.

The Seller has also included a custom made perspex and matching suede Base Shaper.

Though its rare for the Nest to sell 'Well Loved' items, this piece is so beautiful, I just couldn't resist! 

The first edition of 'Heritage' styling, (glazed front flap straps with their ball and staff closure and prestud sealed clochette),  this original variation on the Small Bayswater Satchel is utterly charming.

A gloriously soft, morello cherry toned hide with crackly textured patent trims, shes a perfect combination of texture & tone.

Details -

Despite all the use she's had the leather is entirely without wear. Corners and trims are perfect, no scratches or scuffs, all inking, (edge sealent) in place and stitching tight.

A naturally mottly hide with a slight sheen, its amazing to the touch and there is just one, very well camoflagued spot of stray inking to her RH side panel, as present from construction, (see Gallery above for close up and circled location)

A very soft and supple hide, her top flap is super floppy and creasy and her bot has dropped....(it happens to us all!)...but the Seller has cleverly cured the saggy bottom effect with an 'invisible' Base Shaper.

Top handles are well shaped and firm, though unformly darkened by the oils in the hand from holding. As is often seen on these pieces there are surface impressions to the top flap from the rear handle base inserts.

The long shoulder strap is very good, with a stray inking splatter to the underside and linear impression where the buckle has been set.

Dog-clip strap ends display a couple of very smalls scratches, D rings are excellent as are all plates. The front Postmans Lock Plate is excellent with minor scratching to the end of the turnlock sides.

The main reason for the condition rating is due to the interior wear. As you will see from the photos, this version of SBS has a fully opening internal belt so you can increase the size of her aperture to the full extent. This meant the best way to show the internal conditon was to turn her inside out! The suede displays flattening and darkening, most visibly horizontally across the base of the flap (just above the seam) which has been reflected in the price. Happy to recommend a professional cleaning company, should the buyer wish this remedied.
