Mulberry Large Effie Hobo in Bright Red Spongy Pebbled Leather - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Large Effie Hobo (with small embossed tree) in Bright Red Spongy Pebbled Leather with matt gold tone hardware.

 Bountifully big and beautifully bold, this bright red Effie hobo is crafted from a wonderfully supple and squidgy hide. 

So sadly now discontinued, this is what Mulberry said about the Effie when she was introduced -

" Effie is our new Classic! She is brand new to the Mulberry family but with oodles of our iconic DNA so it feels like she's been here forever. The family's signature is a Mulberry tree embossed into the front: a Mulberry motif with a whole new personality!"

Details - 

At first glance you'd think this fabulous Mulberry was nearly new.

Rich leather aroma, colour consistent, no immediately visible marks or scratches to the leather.

Pretty, braid feature shoulder strap, all in a very good condition with just some light surface scratches to the dog clip ends.

A super soft and deeply grained hide with that lovely padded texture you get with a nice Spongy finish. Thick and pliable, its a structureless bag so will puddle when empy and slouch comfortably at your side when carried.

Only on close inspection you can note a small scratch in the leather just above the top rivet on the RH side of the bag (most likely caused by the insertion of the rivet by the craftsman during manufacture).

Turn the bag upside down and there are colour rubs to the corners, very commonly seen on these pieces with folded corner construction and a small linear rub to the middle of the lower seam on the rear. The appearance of these can be improved dramatically with the application of the correct shade of Colonill Cream. 

The main reason for the Condition Categorisation is due to a materials fault that had this bag been within 12 months of purchase, would have been returned to Mulberry for remedy. The inking, (edge sealent) to the two, side seams of the bag, has begun to ruffle*. Very hard to notice in use, there are currently four little ruffles to the LH side and two to the RH. Its possible that with continued use and the natural flexing of the leather, these will increase in number though do not affect the use of the bag in any way.

Fully lined in clean dark chocolate tree repeat fabric with a side zipped security compartment and leather trimmed slip pocket.

The top seals with a self locating popper.
