This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Vintage Martha Messenger Bag in Oak Darwin Leather with brass hardware.

 

Light to carry, easy to use and crafted from a creasy and nicely softened, rich darwin oak hide, she's a simple, saddle-flap bag that can be worn on the shoulder or cross body.

Wonderful, retro-style whipstitching, feminine curves and embossed detailing, its a beautifully boho, rare vintage treat!

Details - 

Whilst there are some Mulberry leathers that deteriorate with age, there are some that just get even better and better with the passing years.
 
Oodles of character with natural striations, light fingernail scuffs and a small and very vague area of darkening to the LH side panels inner crease, (see photo), she's in an incredible condition for her age.
 
No water marks or patination, no stored or musty smell, just that amazing rich leather aroma that only the original Darwin hide could deliver.
 
The leather is softened, textured and glossy to the top flap, contrasting with the firmer, smoother side panels that provide the structure. The shape is gently rounded and the 'saddle' comprising of two concertina sections.
 
No wear, trims, curves and stitching all firm with inking in place, just a little dry to the inner 'ears' at each side of the bag which have a little curl from use.
 
Hardware is excellent without ageing or issue and the long, adjustable, webbed strap is entirely clean and relatively smooth with just slight creasing.
 
 The inside is clean, self lined suede with light ruffling to the interior of the top flap and the top seals with a popper on leather tab, (the flap then just sits over the top)
 
 Made in Turkey.
 
No serial number as is common for bags made in this era.

25cm high x 12cm wide maximum, (will sit naturally slim at 6cm if empty)

Shoulder strap is detachable and fully adjustable with a drop between 40cm and 67cm, so can sit nice and long below hip level.
