Balenciaga Classic Town in Dark Violet Lambskin - SOLD

This is a stunning, 100% authentic Balenciaga Town in Dark Violet Lambskin with classic, dark brass hardware.

The compact version of the City, this beautiful Balenciaga is light to carry, a perfect size for everyday and crafted from a rich, blackcurrent toned, glazed agneau. A limited release colour from Spring Summer 2012 its a proper royal purple shade, (accurate in main photo in the gallery above)

Gorgeously creasy with that wonderful, crackly vintage texture that only Balenciaga does so well, this town is in a lovely condition.

Colour consistent, she's slightly dry throughout, (and would benefit from a general moisturisation) but there's no real wear, corners and hardware excellent and though the surface of the shoulder strap is dry and a little rough, this will be improved greatly by the application of leather cream.

Short tassles attached to the bag are excellent and long tassles were removed at the time of purchase, so are slightly kinked but unworn and have been stored seperately. Mirror has been stored seperately also, with one light, curved fingernail scuff to the upper LH corner of the mirror side.

Top handles are firm, inking in place and whipstitching excellent.

A single missed stitch* can be noted on the top aperture of the bag, on the LH side, as present at the time of construction. This is not a broken stitch but where the craftsman looks to have stopped and then started again and does not affect the bag structurally or aesthetically.

A few, very small rubs to the colouration on the edge seams of the bag, as commonly noted on these pieces. All depicted in the close-up photos above and very hard to see without a detailed inspection.
