in Black Antiqued Glace leather with bronze finish hardware.
Now a vintage style, the Roxy is wonderfully roomy day bag and ideal if you like a more structured style that won't sag.
Crafted from an incredibly robust Antique Glace leather (Darwin which has been heat treated to give it a delightful glossy and crackly sheen) it shrugs off rain with ease and the bronze finish hardware contrasts beautifully.
The leather is wonderfully thick, still stiff and yet to soften. Very strong and dense with natural striations and patches of reddish pearlisation to the glaze..... its an incredibly beautiful finish.
A rich, crackly gloss which camoflagues surface scuffs perfectly.... there are fingernail scuffs and light creasing to the surface but these are quite difficult to see in use as the reflective nature of the finish is hugely forgiving.
Inking is all in place if just a little dry with minor crackling to the base corner areas.
Stitching is strong and the shoulder straps are well shaped and unsoftened.
A 6mm scratch to the top of the front shoulder strap from the claw setting of a ring can be seen on the very closest of inspections.
As present from the time of purchase, an area of glue residue discolouration can be noted under the rear RH shoulder strap base. This does not affect the bag structurally in any way but has affected the glaze, as shown.
Hardware is very good, the D rings and rivets are excellent with just some rubbing to the finish on the centre of the buckle barrels from the prongs.
Self lined, ruffled suede interior displaying age related discolouration, most visibly to the side 'ears', there is a pen mark to the base LH side and top of the inside zipped pocket, (see Photos above)
No serial number which is common on Mulberrys made at this time.
