Details -

A thick, robust NVT hide. Still stiff, with an even grain and rich, deep caramel tone there's no patina or even wear, just some darkening to the top of the straps where they've been hand held.

A very vague, darker area across the bottom LH side of the front flap, almost imperceptible, the top curve of the flap displays the usual surface impressions and darkening from the handle bases.

Shoulder straps are well shaped, not softened with inking (edge sealent) intact, just a little dry and crackled to the handle base inner sides.

The hardware shows friction rubbing between the lock plates, around the turnlock hole on the Postmans Lock and to the sides of the turnlock. Base feet show scratching and paling to their apex.

The underside of the top flap displays some flattening and slight darkening to the pile of the suede, on each side of the 'ears' (see photos above).

The interior is self lined in suede with two leather slip pockets and zip section. Clean with one small pen mark to the rear RH base.

The reason for the * rating is due to the very slight, white residue on the surface of the hide which is a build up of leather moisturising cream. Over time, the protective action of Colonnil and the natural oils in the leather can leave creams unabsorbed. This is only visible on very close inspection, (see last photo above) and is easily remedied with a good leather cleaning agent.
