The Evelyne was named after Évelyne Bertrand, who was the head of Hermès’s riding department. It was designed in 1978 to carry grooming equipment and was sold in stores alongside other equestrian goods. The perforated H was designed to enable air to enter the bag to dry the equipment.
This Evelyne III is made in a rich, textured caramel toned clemence leather and has palladium hardware, white contrast stitching, large perforated H icon in circle at front, rear pocket, a pull tab top closure that has a snap closure at the rear, and a removable, adjustable canvas and leather shoulder/crossbody strap.
Only missing as As New condition rating due to the very tiny, extremely light surface scuff to the rear RH lower side and light colour rub to the front corners LH trim. The remainder of the bag is pristine.
Smooth, unrubbed cross body strap with light sit impression where the movable buckle has been set.
Hardware displays only a few, barely visible, hairline polish scratches.
Entirely clean suede interior.
