The overlaid suede leather is all in a very good condition throughout. A very soft and slouchy hide, its given some structure by the rolled patent piping which is also in an excellent condition. No wear at the corners, no rubs, nicks, crinkles or scratches its a bag that will naturally 'puddle' when empty but retains a nice shape when in use.
Inking is excellent throughout, even at flexing points and the plait feature top handle is all perfect.
A well loved bag, there is friction dulling beneath the lock plates where they rub together and both the postmans lock and the turnlock show the usual surface scratches.
The main issues to note is the extensive scratches to the metalware on the ends of the front straps, the LH one of which shows discolouration and the cracking to the patent on these front straps. Extremely well camoflagued by the finishes reflective nature, this crackling can also be noted on the detachable, long shoulder strap, (see Photo Gallery below)
The interior is fully lined in clean black Mulberry silk repeat fabric showing general use.
A much, much nicer bag in the flesh than a listing of its faults makes it sound.
