A fabulously grained and robust hide, its nicely substantial, colour consistent and clean with that wonderful, heady Darwin leather aroma.
Well structured, it will stand up empty and without very close inspection, looks in an excellent condition with very little wear.
Some rubbing to the finish at the base corners, (as is inevitable with these lighter toned hides), there is a small round irregularity in the hide on the front LH side, an extremely light vertical surface graze to the rear LH vertical strap panel and one natural striation on the leather at the reverse LH side of the bag, (see Photo Gallery below)
Hardware is very good, inking (edge sealant) is excellent, stitching strong, shoulder straps clean, well shaped and without any softening or darkening.
The main reason for the condition rating is due to the infamous 'Vanilla Dots'! As is so often found on this colourway, the hide displays pin head sized blackish blue dots throughout. 5 to the flap, 2 to the base, 3 to the front (one hidden under flap), approx 8 to the back and top of flap and a mini smattering just below the internal mulberry label.
Inside is clean, self lined suede with some minor adhesive discoluration around the seam areas.
Please note a slight 'wave' in the seam on the RH base and one of the square foot plaques isn't quite square with the corner as present from new.
