Deliciously thick and full of character the leather is entirely colour consistent, gently softened but without any wear. No patina, scrapes or scratches, just an extremely light, whitish mark to the embossed Mulberry Tree on the hanging cloche, (I have not attempted to remove).
A natural, vertical/diagonal linear striation and small surface impression in the hide on the front, LH side of the flap. Both present from purchase and form a normal feature of this leather type.
Original protective film has been retained on both underside plates and the front Postmans Lock Plate displays only light hairline scratches with one tiny, contact dink (from the chain) on the RH side of the embossed tree.
The chain and leather shoulder strap is excellent.
Stitching all strong and inking, (edge sealent) in place with light wear to the two outer, upper sides of the flap, at the top curves, (see zoomed photos above). A tiny dot sized rub to the front, LH sides corner curve's inking, (no wear to the leather).
The reason for the * notation is due to the slight 'crazing' to the top LH's D-ring, (that houses the strap). Almost completely invisible to the naked eye, under magnification it appears, in places, like the surface of a shattered mirror.
Lined in clean, gently ruffled, milk chocolate coloured suede (an additional lining, not self-lined), with side zipped pocket.
