Stored since purchase, the protective film is not in place on the front plaque though due to the antiqued finish of this hardware there are no visible scratches. 

The reason for the * notation is due to a pin head sized white dot to the interior, middle section's lining, just to the lower RH side of the circular embossed Mulberry Tree. Present from construction.
